Twenty-five years of groceries, bread, halal meat, and tea, on a corner of Rolling Road in Springfield, Virginia.
The name means ‘Friday Market’ in Farsi, one of the languages of Afghanistan. On Fridays, normally an off day, a large public market would open to the people. Everyone’s household and grocery needs were met under one long row of stalls, with tea on every counter.
We are happy to continue that tradition every day of the week. We’ve been a staple of the local community for over twenty-five years, serving guests with their grocery needs while carrying specialty products that may be hard to find elsewhere.
In Farsi, the day everyone gathers. The day the kettle never stops.
Afghan culture is intimately tied to hospitality and the importance we place on the well-being of our guests.
As a guest of Jummah Bazaar we are motivated to ensure you not only find what you are looking for, but that you feel at home with us. Pull up a stool at the counter, ask about the saffron, ask about anything. Tea is always brewing.
